Who is the Classic Beginners Course for?

This Classic Beginners Course is for those that have never trained in eyelash extensions before, felt their initial beginner’s eyelash extension training was poor, or are re-entering the lash industry after a break and need to brush up on their techniques. You do not need any type of prior beauty qualification to take this course. Developed for those across the globe, or those wanting to train with us but may not be able to attend our in-person courses here in the UK.

This Online Classic Beginners Course is accredited and insured by ABT, the UKs largest beauty and insurance membership provider, as well as insured and accredited by Insync and recognised by the IICT. This Classic Beginners Course's content is brand new for 2023. You will be taught the most up to date lash techniques, practising with Pre mades, YY and Clover lashes to create full on fluffy looks. Up until now, Beginner’s lash courses have only taught those new to eyelash extensions with Classic lashes: a single strand of hair which creates a very natural, almost too natural lash look on most people. However, it is now it is time to step into the new era of lashing! Now you will learn how to create full on fluffy effects on your clients, using different types of “new technology” pre made eyelash extensions which also include YY, Clover, Easy fans etc..

These new types of eyelash extensions and techniques that we will be working with, technically still fall under classic lash qualification, which is why we have brought these into our beginners training for 2023 and are covered under a Beginners lash certificate.

Let me introduce myself, my name is Frankie Widdows, I am an Award-winning lash expert specialising solely in eyelash extensions. I have been a lash artist since 2012 and in this time, I feel like I have built up an impressive reputation and resumé in the lash world.

I am also still a working lash artist by choice.  I feel this is something I must continue to do so that my own lash skills can always be up to date so I can teach my students to the best of my ability. I am particularly interested in the precision technique of handmade volume fans, where I love the intricacy of creating perfect volume and this is one of my niche subjects I teach when I travel the globe. Lash styling is another of my expert subjects due to my lash judging. Many fail to realise the importance of understanding all the facial features of a person and styling them correctly. Interestingly, I was one of the first lash companies to offer online training, this was due to high demand of my courses and physically not being able to visit all the countries I was being invited to. From here I developed my lash courses to be online, teaching the same super in-depth content I teach in my in-person courses but instead online. Now anyone who wanted to train with me could do so in the comfort of their own home and gain the same certification.

I have seen online eyelash extensions courses soar in popularity over the years and there certainty is a demand for it. However, for every good online lash course there are twenty poor ones which has sadly given online eyelash extension courses a bad reputation. Now that everybody has a camera phone and access to the internet, it is all too easy to film a few basic videos of yourself lashing, upload it and call it an online course. This has led to many new poorly trained lash artists learning the very basics from poor and usually super cheap online courses and then being let loose on real clients.

Below you can see examples of some of the poor lash work and damage we see. No lash artist would deliberately cause this damage to a client. The simple truth is they were taught poorly and therefore do not know any better. When companies charge such silly prices for lash courses, a treatment which is high end skill and must be taught in depth and correctly, then it’s no surprise you will get what you pay for = poor training!

You will also see lots of other Bonus material (downloads) to assist you with your business (Consultation, Patch test, Aftercare, forms, Release forms, Lash design guide, styling sheets and lash mapping sheets). We have these in both PDF formats as well as editable Canva files so you can add edit to suit your business/ add your own logos if you wish etc. Full instructions are included in your downloads.

I’ve also included 100 free social media templates to set you up, simply edit in Canva to suit your business and branding.

To access the tutorials, simply click on video 1 and off you go. The first part of the course is me guiding you through all of the theory as we work along with the manual – make sure you get comfortable because there is a lot to learn in this section. We will be covering high end in-depth technical content to set you up on the right track before we get on to the practical elements of the course. From here we will then move on to all of the hands-on practical skills which I will guide you step by step through. We start basic and then work gently through, progressing onto a mannequin head and finally onto a real model where you will complete your full set.

There is so much to learn in this course so please take your time, you do not need to complete it all in a day (it would be a very long day). Your course content NEVER expires, it is there to watch and re-watch as many times as you want.

How long do I have to complete the course?

There is no time limit to complete the course. As I said before, your course content never expires so work through it at your own pace, whether 5 days or 5 years, it’s up to you. Also, you get free lifetime updates every time I revamp my courses to stay current. You don’t need to do anything, just login to your account and start watching new stuff!

Can I gain certification from this course?

If you have chosen the case study option, then yes. This means that you will submit your work for assessment (this is called a case study) and on successful completion of case studies you will be issued your accredited certificate. This is a digital certificate that we email you, however students can request a hard copy at an additional cost and postage fees.

What if I choose not to gain certification?

That is completely up to you as not all our students choose the case studies option. Some students may already hold a beginner’s qualification and are taking this course as refresher. Some countries don’t require qualifications, and some have their own state board that governs this, so remember to always check what is required/recognised in your country. However, there is an option to download an editable Canva certificate of completion in your downloads section.

What happens if I fail my case studies?

Each student can re-submit their case studies twice (so three attempts in all at one case study) before I step in for extra assistance. If you follow all that has been taught it is very rare for students to fail case studies, but if you do, don’t worry we are here to assist you every step of the way.

Do I need to buy an eyelash extension kit?

We never force our students to purchase a kit, again this is entirely up to them. However, we have put together x2 different kits for our students to choose from if they wish. As a beginner it can be overwhelming to know what equipment you will need, so we have taken this stress away. You will also know you have all you need to complete the course and thereafter, and will be working with safe, approved products that do work and are the best quality there is. You cannot produce nice sets of lashes with poor products.

Is your online beginner eyelash extension course fun?

I hope so, I love to make learning fun. I class myself as a down to earth normal person that doesn’t take life too seriously. If we can enjoy what we do, then learning this skill as well as the journey becomes enjoyable. I teach in a very honest no nonsense approach which anyone can follow. I don't class myself as an academic, I am much more hands-on practical and therefore structure my courses in this way so that anyone of any ability can learn.

Research the company, are they lash experts or an academy that offers lots of online courses?  Sadly, you will tend to find that “overall academies” teach only the very basics because it is very rare to be a specialist at multiple subjects due to the time it takes to learn your craft in detail as well as stay up to date.

Who is the Trainer/course developer: are they a lash expert? Again, find out who has developed or taught the content. Anyone these days can design an online course so do your research. If you want a Ferrari, you have to pay for it, you want a nice meal, you have to visit a fancy restaurant, simple……the same applies to lashes. You are investing into your future here, so be prepared to invest if you are serious about this journey. If someone is willing to sell you their knowledge for super cheap and to set up your own business, then you need to run. Do not be another person to learn the hard way.

What is Mega Volume?

Russian Volume is the use of ultra-fine extensions namely 0.05, 0.06, 0.07 that are picked up in a ‘multiple lash pickup’ technique, to create a ‘fan’ or ‘bouquet’ of eyelash extensions from 2D-8D.

However Mega volume is the use of much thinner lashes, 0.03mm and 0.04mm in 9D-16D to create a much fuller look than can be achieved with Russian volume.

The use of these ultra-fine lashes allows us to keep the lash weight light, yet still create the Mega volume effect that clients desire.

The level of Mega volume that we use can vary, depending on the look desired by the client, as well as what their natural lashes can safely support.

So, although we have the ability to create more volume, we must always ensure that we do not overload the natural lashes and cause damage.
