Welcome to this week's blog! There is a question I get asked often as an educator, so I thought, what better idea than to focus this blog on it! It is how to complete individual eyelash extension appointments faster without losing quality.
After many years as a master lash artist and the founder of Eyelash Excellence, I have learnt that speed does not come from rushing. It comes from having the right techniques, creating efficient habits, using quality professional lash products and setting yourself up for success before your client even arrives.
Whether you are newly qualified or have been applying eyelash extensions for years, there are always small improvements that can make a huge difference to your appointment times. Saving just 10 to 15 minutes per client can completely transform your working day, increase your income and reduce physical strain on your body.
Here are the biggest ways I have found to speed up lash appointments while still producing beautiful, long-lasting eyelash extensions.
Preparation
Now, preparation is key! One of the biggest and frustrating time wasters is searching for products during the appointment.
Before every client sits down, I make sure everything is prepared and within easy reach. This includes my eyelash extension tweezers, lash trays, adhesive, cleanser, primer if needed, gel eye pads, tape, glue wipes, micro brushes and any other products I know I will use. Having an organised workstation means I never need to interrupt my treatment to look for equipment. Good organisation might only save seconds each time, but over an entire appointment those seconds quickly add up.

Tweezers
Let's talk about tweezers. Your tweezers are probably the most important tool you own. Poor quality tweezers create unnecessary frustration because they struggle to grip lashes consistently, especially when creating volume fans. Investing in precision eyelash extension tweezers that suit your personal grip and technique can significantly improve your speed and reduce hand fatigue. This is something I have always focused on at Eyelash Excellence because the right tools genuinely make your job easier.
If you feel your tweezers are setting you back, it is time to invest in a new pair - and trust me - it is so worth it! If you'd like to have a look through my range of beautiful tweezers to find the best pair that meets your lashing needs, feel free to view them here. If you're unsure about which type of tweezer you need, I'd recommend reading through the descriptions of each, and if you need any advice, my team is here to help!

Lash Adhesives
This brings me on to one of our main essential products - adhesive, of course!
Your eyelash adhesive should work with you, not against you. If your glue is drying too quickly or too slowly for your working speed, every lash application becomes more difficult. Using a professional eyelash extension adhesive that suits your room conditions and application speed helps every extension bond efficiently. Many lash artists try to work around the wrong glue instead of choosing the correct adhesive for their environment. Finding the right match can instantly improve both speed and retention.
Another very important thing to remember about adhesive is that many lash artists unknowingly lose time because they continue working with adhesive that has already started to cure. Refreshing your glue regularly keeps every attachment clean and fast.
Small habits like wiping your nozzle, changing your glue drop and maintaining the correct humidity all contribute to quicker applications and better retention. You can view our range of safe, UK-made adhesives here. There is a chart on each of the product images to help you find the best adhesive for your requirements, depending on what stage you're at in your lashing journey and your lash setting.

Lash Trays
And now, our other main essential product - lash trays. Struggling to remove lashes from the strip wastes valuable time throughout every appointment. Quality lash trays with consistent spacing and easy release strips allow you to pick up extensions smoothly without damaging the fibres. This creates a much more efficient workflow, particularly during Russian volume and mega volume lash sets where thousands of individual lash pickups are made. Every smooth pickup helps maintain your rhythm.
Isolation & Pickup Techniques
Moving on to an important point to learn - isolation and pickup techniques. One of the biggest differences between beginner and experienced lash artists is isolation. Good isolation becomes almost automatic with practice. When isolation is clean and precise, you spend less time correcting stickies or separating lashes later in the appointment. Slow isolation creates slow application. Efficient isolation creates faster appointments and healthier natural lashes.
If you've watched experienced lash artists, you will notice they rarely make unnecessary hand movements. Their pickup, isolation and placement all flow together naturally. This only comes through repetition and practice. I always encourage lash artists to practise picking up lashes, creating fans and placing extensions without worrying about completing a full set. Repeating these individual skills builds muscle memory much faster.
Now, let's chat about... chatting!
Building relationships with clients is incredibly important, but many lash artists find themselves stopping every few minutes to continue conversations. I have learnt that setting a calm, relaxing atmosphere often benefits both the client and the lash artist. Many clients actually enjoy closing their eyes and relaxing throughout their appointment. This allows you to stay focused on your application and maintain a consistent working rhythm.
Using the right products
Another tip I feel very strongly about, as a seller of all things eyelash products, is using the right (and the best) products for your trade. Sometimes saving time comes from using better products rather than working harder. Small improvements such as professional eyelash tape that stays in place, eye pads that do not move, reliable lash adhesive, premium lash trays and precision tweezers all reduce interruptions during treatment.
At Eyelash Excellence, every product we stock is chosen because it has been tested by lash artists who understand what professionals need in a busy salon environment. I only recommend products that I genuinely believe help improve both the quality of your work and the efficiency of your appointments. I've done the hard work for you and searched high and low for the best working products on the market. Believe me - I've tested a lot!!
One of my other very hard-working areas of my career has been producing my training courses. I have worked on creating excellent online courses and have also taught thousands of lash artists face-to-face. The fastest lash artists are usually the ones who never stop learning. Continuous education is one of the best investments any lash artist can make. The beginners' training course is not where it ends. I have some fantastic training courses that help trained lash artists continue to learn and become the best at their craft. Quality over speed
Onto one of the most important pieces of advice I give in my training - don't sacrifice quality for speed.
You may remember I touched on this in one of my previous blogs. Clients remember beautiful lashes that last and are usually very accommodating if they are forewarned you're new to the industry, so this appointment may take a little longer than future appointments. Truthfully, they do not remember whether their appointment finished ten minutes earlier, but they remember a really neat uniform and perfect set!
Speed should always come as the result of confidence, experience and efficient working methods rather than rushing. When your techniques improve naturally, your speed follows. That is exactly how I have approached my own lash career and how I continue to teach every lash artist who trains with Eyelash Excellence.

In conclusion
This brings me onto the final part of this blog and just something for you to keep in mind, no matter what stage in your lash career journey you're at. Speeding up your individual eyelash extension appointments is not about cutting corners. It is about creating better habits, choosing professional eyelash extension products, improving your techniques and working smarter every single day. Over time these small improvements make a remarkable difference to your confidence, your client experience and your business profitability. If I could give one piece of advice to finalise all the tips I have spoken about in this blog, it would be to focus on becoming consistently efficient rather than simply becoming fast. The speed will always come.
At Eyelash Excellence, I am passionate about helping lash artists build successful businesses through professional education and products that genuinely perform. Every product we offer has been selected with professional lash technicians in mind because I know first-hand how much the right tools can improve your work.
Whether you are looking for premium eyelash extension tweezers, professional lash adhesives, easy release lash trays or salon essentials, investing in quality products can make every appointment smoother, faster and more enjoyable for both you and your clients. You'll also find that by following the same smooth routine, alongside good training and quality products every time, it will all eventually become second nature.
Thanks for reading this week's blog. I hope you've enjoyed it and found it useful, whether you're a beginner and just getting started or you're well into your career but still struggling with certain aspects.
