Russian Volume has always been my absolute passion. It's the technique that completely changed my career and, even after 14 years of specialising solely in eyelash extensions, it's still the part of lashing that excites me the most. I genuinely love creating perfect handmade fans and, if I'm honest, I can happily sit for hours making them!

The reason I created this course is because I've seen far too much poor volume training over the years. I've seen beginners being taught Russian Volume before they've even mastered classic lashes, I've seen bulky fans, crossed bases, poor wrapping and techniques that simply aren't safe for the natural lash. Unfortunately, once those bad habits have been learnt, they can take a long time to correct.

This course isn't about teaching you how to make a fan. It's about teaching you how to create beautifully balanced, lightweight, symmetrical handmade Russian Volume fans that you'll genuinely be proud to put your name to. My students often laugh because I won't let anything less than a Frankie Approved Fan leave the tweezers! If it isn't neat enough, we simply make another one. I genuinely believe that attention to detail is what separates an average lash artist from an exceptional one.

Why learn handmade fans?
People often ask me whether they really need to learn handmade fans when there are so many fantastic pre-made fans available nowadays. The answer is... it depends what you want from your career. I still use and teach quality pre-made fans because they absolutely have their place, but learning to create your own handmade fans gives you a completely different level of artistry.

Once you understand fan making, you're no longer restricted by what's available to buy. You can customise every set to suit your client, create softer, lighter and more bespoke lash sets, and from a business point of view it's also far more cost-effective than buying pre-made fans week after week. It's a skill you'll use for the rest of your career, and one that gives you complete control over the lashes you create.

Why train with me?
Russian Volume has been my niche for over 14 years and it's what I'm best known for within the lash industry. Back in 2013, I travelled to New York to train with Nadia Afanaseva, one of the pioneers of Russian Volume, before bringing those techniques back to the UK. Since then, I've continued to travel internationally to invest in my own education because I genuinely believe that if you're going to teach others, you should never stop learning yourself.

Over the years I've gone on to become an international competition judge, guest speaker, educator and product developer, and I've trained thousands of lash artists through my academy, online education and social media. Who is this course for?
This course is designed for qualified lash artists who already have experience in classic eyelash extensions. It isn't suitable for complete beginners because Russian Volume requires excellent isolation, placement and classic lash knowledge before progressing to handmade fans. Personally, I don't believe beginners should ever be taught Russian Volume before they've built solid foundations in classic lashing.

If you've already completed classic training and you're ready to level up your skills, refine your technique and learn true precision fan making, then this course is for you.

How the course works
Before attending your practical day, you'll complete the online theory at home, allowing you to build your knowledge before we start making fans together. You'll receive your downloadable manual and online learning as soon as you've secured your place on the course.

Your practical training day runs from 10am until approximately 5pm and is completely focused on developing your fan-making skills. We'll cover four different fan-making techniques, helping you discover which method feels most natural to you before moving on to perfect glue control, wrapping, placement and creating a full Russian Volume set on a mannequin head.

Working this way allows you to focus entirely on perfecting your technique without the added pressure of working on a live model. Once your fans become consistent, progressing onto real clients becomes far easier.

Learning doesn't stop when you go home
There's a huge amount to learn on a Russian Volume course and I never expect my students to remember everything from one training day.

That's why, after your course, you'll also receive access to all of my practical training videos. These are the same demonstrations taken from my online training programme, meaning you can go back and watch every technique as many times as you need whilst you're completing your case studies or working on your first Russian Volume clients.

Many students tell me this becomes one of the most valuable parts of the course because it gives them the confidence to revisit techniques whenever they need a refresher. It's like having me there beside you whenever you need a little guidance.

Case studies & certification
After your practical training you'll complete four case studies in your own time. I'll personally assess every submission, provide detailed feedback and help you improve until you're producing work to the standard required. There is no time limit for completing your case studies because I'd much rather you qualify when you're truly ready than feel rushed.

Once you've successfully completed your case studies, you'll receive your ABT Accredited Certificate, allowing you to obtain insurance and professionally offer Russian Volume eyelash extensions within the UK.
