I'm not anti-UV technology at all, but I am incredibly passionate about product safety, education and transparency, particularly when we're introducing something new into an industry where we're working so closely to the eyes.
So when customers started asking whether Eyelash Excellence would offer a UV lash adhesive, I didn't want to source a random product, put our label on it and jump on the UV bandwagon. I wanted an adhesive whose formulation I could actually look at, question and understand, from a supplier whose approach to product safety I trusted.

Why Ladybug Lashes Dew Drop?
If you've read my previous blog about my friendship with Louise, you'll know that Ladybug Lashes and Eyelash Excellence are technically competing UK lash suppliers. However, one of the biggest things that brought Louise and me together nearly three years ago was our shared obsession with lash product safety.
We've spent countless hours discussing lash adhesives, ingredients, formulations, SDS documents, manufacturing and regulations. If one of us finds something questionable or interesting, you can pretty much guarantee the other one is going to hear about it! So when Louise developed Dew Drop, I knew the thinking behind the product and I knew the person behind the brand.
Dew Drop is a UK-formulated, cosmetic-grade UV lash adhesive with a transparent ingredient list. It uses Ethyl-2-Cyanoacrylate as the main adhesive ingredient alongside PMMA, BHA as a stabiliser and a photoinitiator that allows the adhesive to cure when exposed to a compatible UV/LED light source. Importantly for Louise when developing the product, the formulation is also TPO-free. For me, this level of transparency matters. I want to be able to look at an adhesive formulation, understand why the ingredients are there and ask questions. That's the standard I've tried to build into our own professional lash adhesive range at Eyelash Excellence, so if I'm going to introduce another brand's adhesive to my customers, I want those same principles behind it.
Why We Sell the UV Glue, But NOT a UV Lash System
You'll notice something slightly unusual about our approach to UV lashes. Eyelash Excellence sells Ladybug Lashes Dew Drop UV Lash Adhesive, but we don't sell a UV lamp or complete UV lash system. That is completely deliberate.
UV lash systems have appeared and grown incredibly quickly within our industry. In my opinion, some of this technology has reached the lash market faster than the depth of independent research, testing and specialist education I would personally want to see when we're talking about repeatedly using UV light in such close proximity to the human eye. UV light isn't something I think we should be casual about. Understanding things such as wavelength, irradiance, exposure time, distance, cumulative exposure, eye protection and the actual output of different lamps requires specialist knowledge. For me, that's very different from simply understanding how to apply lashes using a UV system.
At Eyelash Excellence, I will only introduce something when I feel I have in-depth knowledge of the product, how it works and the science and safety considerations behind it. I could source a UV lamp, put an Eyelash Excellence logo on it and sell a complete system, but that's simply not how I want to run my business. If I'm going to put my name behind a piece of equipment that repeatedly delivers UV light close to someone's eyes, I want research. I want testing. I want data. I want to understand exactly what that particular piece of equipment is delivering and what that means during real-world use. That level of understanding takes time.
Until I personally feel that I have the research, evidence and specialist knowledge required to confidently put the Eyelash Excellence name behind a complete UV system, I won't sell one simply because they're popular.
So Why Are We Happy to Sell Ladybug Lashes Dew Drop?
Because lash adhesives ARE an area in which we have extensive knowledge and experience. We wanted Eyelash Excellence customers who are already appropriately trained, insured and using a suitable professional UV lash system to have access to a UK-formulated, cosmetic-grade UV adhesive from another independent UK lash supplier whose approach to formulation, ingredients and transparency we trust.
That's why we've chosen Ladybug Lashes Dew Drop UV Lash Adhesive.
Dew Drop allows us to offer the part of the UV lash process that sits firmly within our existing area of expertise: professional lash adhesives, their formulations and product safety without pretending that automatically makes us experts in UV equipment. The lamp is a different conversation, and one I believe deserves considerably more research and education.
What Makes Dew Drop UV Lash Glue Different?
Dew Drop is a clear, medium-viscosity professional UV lash adhesive supplied in a 5g bottle and designed for use with compatible 365–395nm UV/LED systems. One thing I particularly respect about the way Louise markets Dew Drop is what she doesn't claim.
Dew Drop still contains cyanoacrylate. UV lash adhesive is not allergy-free, and switching to UV does not magically make an existing cyanoacrylate allergy disappear. Ladybug Lashes is very clear about this rather than trying to market Dew Drop as some sort of "hypoallergenic miracle glue". For me, that's another huge tick. I would much rather sell a product alongside honest education about its limitations than make ridiculous claims simply because they sell more bottles.

If you're already a trained and insured UV lash technician and you're looking for a professional, cosmetic-grade UV lash glue with a transparent formulation, Dew Drop is an adhesive I'm genuinely happy to offer through Eyelash Excellence. It isn't an allergy cure, it doesn't replace appropriate UV training and buying the adhesive from us isn't an endorsement of whichever lamp or UV system you choose to use it with. Your training, equipment, insurance and understanding of your individual UV system remain incredibly important.
What Dew Drop gives us is something much simpler: a UK-formulated, cosmetic-grade, TPO-free UV lash adhesive developed by Ladybug Lashes, a UK lash supplier whose approach to product safety and transparency I personally know and trust.
That's why I've chosen to sell Louise's adhesive rather than rush to create an Eyelash Excellence version simply for the sake of having our name on the bottle. Sometimes another supplier has already created a bloody good product. And I'm more than happy to say so.
